Parish Notes - Sunday 28th February (2nd Sunday in Lent)

If anyone would like to consider joining a Confirmation Preparation Course please speak to Andy Higgs…this does not commit you to having to be confirmed!  Don’t forget Wed 3^rd Mar Lunch Club at 1pm in the Parish Hall.

When we do our shopping this week, please bear in mind that we are in the middle of Fair Trade Fortnight and perhaps buy as many Fair Trade products as possible.  If you haven’t tried them before this will be a really good time to experiment! Look out for the special offers.

It’s all to do with flowers!!   Although we do not have flowers in church during Lent, we are already thinking about our Easter Lilies and if you would like to contribute to the cost of a lily (approx. £3-£5), please give your donation to June England at St. Cedd’s or Phyllis Ford at St. Mary’s.   

Phyllis is also trying to set up a Flower Rota at St. Mary’s and if you would like to perhaps celebrate a special date such as a birthday or anniversary or if you would just like to help out by doing the flowers for the church, please let Phyllis know.    

We will be preparing small posies for Mothering Sunday on Saturday 13^th March in St. Mary’s Church at 2 pm and will really appreciate as many helpers as possible please.   Many hands make light work!

Our Agape Supper will be held on Maundy Thursday 1^st April at 7.30 pm in St. Cedd’s and we hope that as many of our church family as possible will be able to join us.   Please sign up on the form that will be in both churches next Sunday so that we will have a rough idea of how many to cater for.   There is no set charge but a contribution can be made on the night and all proceeds will go to Christian Aid.
