This morning we welcome fiancée Mandy, family and friends of Jamie Ansell, who is being baptised this morning at St Mary’s in preparation for his confirmation this afternoon.

Many congratulations to everyone being confirmed this afternoon at St. Cedd’s, our thanks to Asst. Bp John Ball who will be leading our worship and guiding them through this important part of their spiritual journey and Richard Wade playing the music. Please pray for them as we look forward to a joyous and celebratory service of worship. Refreshments will be served in the parish hall after the service.

Now that Elaine has moved away, we need to rethink our Wedding Fayre team. If you would like to join the team, which involves manning a stand at the Park Inn, North Stifford, and chatting to couples who are planning their wedding to introduce the idea of a church service rather than a civil one, please have a word with Brenda (contact details below) and she will be pleased to give you more information.

The date of our church fete (Sat July 16th) is not far away! The fete committee are in the midst of a series of planning meeting and have already come up with quite a few new ideas, details of which are being circulated in both churches. Please have a look at the sheets so that you can see just what you can do to help and support. We will definitely need help on the day and if anyone has any other ideas for stalls, activities etc, please speak to Brenda or Gill Holland. In the meantime we would really appreciate donations for our tombola stall, bottle stall and white elephant stall as well as suitable raffle prizes.

Luncheon Club, meets on the 1st & 3rd Wednesday of the month (so will be meeting this coming Wednesday) at 1 pm in the Parish Hall. The cost is still only £1.50 (a remarkable testament to June’s shopping skills!) for a light hot 2 course meal with tea or coffee and the aim is to encourage the able drivers among us to befriend and pick up neighbours or friends who are less able and who so appreciate having a meal and a chat in company. Regulars usually let June know if they can’t come and she is grateful if newcomers would phone in advance. (June England – GT 372225).
