Revelation ...

... is our church worship band. The band plays on the first Sunday of each month at our service of Family Worship at St Cedd's Church. We also play on special occasions, including our annual Summer Fete. Last September, we performed a special concert in St Cedd's church and raised over £650 for church funds and the charity Harvest Help.

Band members

The members of the band are: Mick Holland (guitar), Jon Knights (keyboard), Andy Sentance (bass/guitar/vocals), Anne Sentance (keyboard/vocals), Rebecca Sentance (cornet/vocals), Tim Sentance (saxophone/bass) and Peter Stephens (drums).

The band have been playing together since 2005. The line-up is somewhat flexible, depending on the availability of band members and the music that we are playing.

Our music

In church services, we provide accompaniment for the congregational singing, with the sax and/or cornet providing the instrumental lead.

At Fetes and at our recent concert, we play a wide variety of rock and pop music, mainly from the 1960s and 1970s. These include hits by artists as diverse as The Shadows (Apache and FBI), Procul Harem (Whiter Shade of Pale), Eric Clapton (Layla), Focus (Sylvia), Chuck Berry (Roll Over Beethoven, Johnny B Goode), Andrew Gold (Lonely Boy), The Beatles (Day Tripper, Please Please Me), Status Quo (Rockin' All Over the World), Billy Joel (Just the Way You Are), Coldplay (In My Place), The Carpenters (Goodbye to Love) and Pink Floyd (Great Gig in the Sky).

Occasionally, we play some of this secular music at the end of our church services!

September 2007 Concert

On 15th September 2007, Revelation performed a concert at St Cedd's Church in aid of church funds and in support of Harvest Help, a development charity which helps poor farmers in Africa. Over 100 people came to the concert and a total of £665 was raised. A further concert is planned for Autumn 2008.
